For many, addiction can be the symptom of a past trauma that was never treated. Those struggling to cope with a past trauma may turn to drugs or alcohol to ease their suffering. Substance use is only a mask, so Trivium helps clients address those root traumas and move forward in their recovery.

Anyone can develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) — a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event — so Trivium offers several Trauma/PTSD groups. Most choose our gender specific trauma groups.

Women’s Trauma

Trivium, formerly known as Recovery 4 Life, started Idaho’s first women’s trauma program in 2015 because of the pattern we found in female clients with multiple treatment episodes, which showed addiction was oftentimes a symptom of a past trauma.

At Trivium, we work to address the underlying root cause of substance use disorder. Trivium provides women-only groups that address the unique needs of women seeking recovery. Groups focus on relationships, motherhood, sexuality, communication, and addiction. Each group offers a supportive, empowering experience that will help increase and strengthen your self-esteem and overcome addiction to find ultimate healing.

Men’s Trauma

After seeing the success and demand of our Women’s Trauma program, Trivium began our Men’s Trauma program because men who have struggled to cope with past trauma are just as likely to turn to drugs or alcohol in an effort to ease their suffering.

At Trivium, we work to address the underlying root cause of substance use disorder. Trivium provides men-only groups to address the unique needs of men seeking recovery. Groups focus on relationships, fatherhood, sexuality, communication, and addiction. Each group offers a supportive, empowering experience that will help increase and strengthen your self-esteem and overcome addiction to find ultimate healing.
